Aerium & Partners Roll Out the Drone814 Emergency Response Initiative

Drone814: A Milestone in Emergency Response and Aerospace Innovation

In a powerful demonstration of innovation meeting community need, Aerium is proud to serve as a founding partner in the Drone814 initiative, a project that is redefining emergency response and helping to build the future of aerospace right here in Pennsylvania.

Announced publicly by Aerium Chairman Dr. Larry Nulton during a town hall in Johnstown, Drone814 (Emergency Life Saving Aerial – Mission 3) is a transformative pilot program that deploys drones to deliver lifesaving medical supplies—such as Narcan, EpiPens, and AEDs—to emergency scenes in rural and mountainous areas faster than traditional first responders.

Backed by a coalition of leaders in healthcare, emergency services, and education, Drone814 serves as a real-world testbed for autonomous aerial delivery, demonstrating the power of unmanned systems to close critical response gaps, especially in underserved regions. Aerium’s role ensures the project remains deeply tied to education, workforce development, and long-term aerospace advancement in the Commonwealth.

The AARCHIEE Project is expected to enhance access to healthcare in remote regions, improving patient outcomes and increasing efficiency in the healthcare supply chain. Aerium will collaborate with healthcare providers, governmental agencies, and private sector companies to support the widespread adoption of UAV technology in healthcare logistics. By combining cutting-edge drone technology with healthcare needs, Aerium is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in healthcare delivery, transforming how critical medical supplies are transported and advancing UAV applications across multiple industries.

Aerium’s Contributions:

  • Strategic Planning & Vision Alignment: Helping to shape the program’s direction as part of a broader statewide innovation agenda.
  • Public Engagement & Education: Amplifying Drone814’s impact through community outreach, student engagement, and STEM advocacy.
  • Workforce Pipeline Development: Integrating lessons from the field into aviation education to prepare tomorrow’s aerospace professionals.

As Drone814 takes flight, Aerium continues to guide, elevate, and expand the potential of unmanned systems for public good. This initiative marks not only a milestone for Aerium—but a major leap forward for Pennsylvania.
